Taking the first steps towards better health

Welcome! Consider this a new beginning towards a healthier, happier, more balanced body and mind.

Over the course of the coming weeks and months we will explore the best ways that you can manage your overall health so that you feel your absolute best. You will learn ways that nutrition can help fuel and heal your body from the inside out, and the many other lifestyle aspects that contribute to wellness.

We'll go at your pace and implement diet and lifestyle adjustments that will gradually add up to your feeling better and better. Most importantly, you will become equipped to recognize symptoms of imbalance in yourself, and be able to self-correct to bring yourself back into alignment long after our sessions have ended. Health coaching is the gift that keeps on giving!

Here are our primary areas of focus:
  • Implementing a diet to reduce the severity of colitis
  • Reduce your other symptoms of discomfort (arthritis, depression, headaches, yeast infections, low energy)
  • Reduce emotional imbalance to increase happiness
I have no doubt that we can accomplish these goals together.

So let's get started!

Here are your recommendations for the next 2 weeks:

1. Avoid dairy 100%.

Instead of yogurt or milk go for almond/cashew/coconut/hemp milk. Instead of cheese something else that has some protein or fat, such as nuts or nut butter, fresh avocado with a little sea salt & turmeric, or hummus with veggies. If you like butter you can try using Ghee for cooking instead, this is a clarified butter that has the lactose cooked off and you can find it in most health food stores in the Asian/Indian foods section.

2. Limit gluten whenever possible.

Try some quinoa pasta, and other gluten-free replacement foods for other things you like such as breads, cereals or snacks. See if you can find a gluten-free bagel! Ideally aim to avoid things like pasta and breads in general and go for more wholesome and nutrient-rich foods whenever you can, such as eggs, organic meats, or cooked veggies (since cooked is better for digestion than raw at this healing stage).

3. Become more observant and mindful of how you feel.

If you notice that you feel a little bloated, or tired, or restless, or uncomfortable, etc. after a meal then write it down. Your body is always sending signals as to your internal health so let's see if there's a pattern.

If anything else comes up, jot that down too so we can talk about it at our next session!
